"I was interested in the lightening process and was really impressed by the changes I saw in a close friend after she did the seminar, however, NOTHING could prepare me for the absolute astonishment I felt when it actually worked for me!! I still cannot believe that by doing such a short process and not taking any drugs at all you can physically make horrible symptoms disappear for good! No doctor has even come close to this! I am now living such a wonderful life and have not stopped talking and laughing since I left the seminar! Donna was really the most inspirational coach. I kept telling myself that if doing the process could give me as much positivity, energy and radiance as Donna then I was going to give it my best shot!
I really would encourage anyone who is even thinking about it to give it a go. For me I reasoned that I had so much more to gain than I had to lose. I am so glad I did!"

to Reading where my office is (Ive been homeworking for the last three years due to CFS) and 'I've eaten more cake than I care to admit too! We've been out for dinner, we've had fish and chips, we've done chinese take out and
even a Burger King!! Strange what you hanker after after so many years of NOT being able to eat what you want! Bizarrely its all the trash (!) but I
reckon Im allowed for at least another week, before I have to start thinking about my figure ;-) And we have a long list of friends wanting to cook us dinner which is just a lovely position to be in!

walking the gardens. Oh scone, jam and cream never tasted so good!"

"Thank you Donna for being the most inspiring and powerful influence in my life so far. I never thought 3 days with someone could give me back the life I love. It's only day 4, and I've already kicked ALL my food allergies and other sensitivities! This is amazing as they were such a big part of my life. The ionisers are gone. The 'big box of supplements' are gone. The big handbag with the 'just in case' water, seeds and tablets has gone! Every food diary, chronic fatigue symptom sheet, and all the letters from specialists and doctors are away with the bin-men now!! We went out for dinner for the first time in 3 years last night. I ate like a pig, and felt truly sick afterwards in a really good way! I just couldn't stop grinning as I was eating my tiramisu cheesecake and chattering away to Rick.
Thank you. Ive also just walked a good 3 miles into Winchester and back and enjoyed every moment of it - something I never thought I would ever do again. My next step is to start my commute to work again, and see the reactions of all my work colleagues! They'll find it all very hard to believe Im sure!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you. You have changed my life forever, and you've given Rick back his girl. And that is more than anyone could ever ask for. Thank you Donna. A rather nice article I found :-
"I believe that every moment of existence holds within it, somewhere, a
key to your true nature. So as you read this article, do so as if this
could be your key, and lets see which doors it opens within you.
There is a simple fact of nature that I would like you to consider YOU
ARE ALREADY PERFECT!
All of nature, or existence, or reality, or whatever you prefer to call
it, is already perfect.
There is nothing outside of you that you need to find to complete you. You
are already complete.
There is nothing you need to achieve. There is nothing you need to get, do
or become. Everything you need to be you is already within you. You are
perfect, as is all other creation.
A rock is a rock. It doesnt try to be anything other than itself. It does
not look elsewhere for its identity. It just is, and its perfect.
A tree does not try to be something its not. Its a tree. And it spends
its time just being. Without struggle, it is what it is- perfect.
There is not one example in nature, living or non-living, which is not
already perfect. Including YOU! You are perfect right now- exactly how you
are meant to be.
If you were meant to be something or someone else, then you would be.
If you were meant to have something else, then you would have it.
If you were meant to achieve something, then you would have achieved it.
You are already perfect, just as you are.
Be happy being who you are."

If you aren't happy, why aren't you?
Chances are it is because you want something which you do not have, objects or conditions. This is probably not a good enough reason and a review of your situation and perceptions may be in order.
You may have seen video of children in very poor countries laughing and playing, unconcerned that they should have more to be happy about. They are happy because they are playing, because they have their friends and family, and some food to eat that day. Everyone has the right to be happy, and if they can be in their situation, shouldn't you?
"Happiness consists more in small conveniences of pleasures that occur every day, than in great pieces of good fortune that happen but seldom to a man in the course of his life." - Ben Franklin (1706-1790)
Happiness is inside us, in our minds, in our thinking. It is not external material things or experiences, but the enjoyment of our thoughts and feelings. This is good because our thoughts, and therefore our happiness, are up to us.
Start by reviewing the things that you have to be happy about and dwell on these. Don't overlook the little or basic things that you take for granted.
Make a habit of substituting unhappy thoughts with happy thoughts. Whenever an unfavourable picture enters your mind, eject it and replace it with a pleasant one. We all have some nice experiences to recollect and there are usually little pleasures around us most of the time. You can even imagine enjoyable experiences, and it will have a similar positive effect.
"Happiness is like a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp, but, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you." - Nathaniel Hawthorne (1804-1864)
Establish good principles and conduct yourself according to these principles. Love, or at least be tolerant of, your fellow humans. Don't strive too hard for that which, in the end, will not make you happier.

One of the secrets of success is to not work so hard with your physical body; instead, use your mind to work out the details of how to be the person you want to be. Are you motivated to spend 10 minutes a day envisioning the future you want to create for yourself?
By deliberately mentally rehearsing the experience of success in your mind, you can turn aspirations into realities. See yourself free from the old negative habits that have wasted your time, energy, and money. Forget willpower for now and imagine yourself with positive behaviours. See yourself handling any challenging situation that normally triggers your old habits and see yourself using new strategies and doing it with ease.
Success experts say your imagination is your own personal workshop of the mind. This is particularly true when you want to program yourself towards new habits of success.
Visualize Yourself as the Person You Want to Be with Mental Rehearsal.
Mental rehearsal is the most powerful way to tap into your creative process and overcome old behaviour patterns. Mental rehearsal can be used in all areas of your life, from seeing yourself as a non smoker, seeing yourself as the weight and size you want to be, and even seeing yourself as calm during challenging times.
Mental rehearsal is a tool that can help you reduce the effects of stressful situations. Now you will be more resourceful, reducing the possibility of reverting to your old habits. All areas in your life can benefit from imagery. It doesn’t matter what level your goals are on: physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual.
Use visualization to improve your abilities. Because the body follows the mind, if you start seeing yourself in a different light, then your body will follow suit — maybe by not craving the things that hurt you, or by motivating you to exercise more. It’s up to you to experiment. Who knows what miracles you can create in your life by using this powerful tool?
Therapists who recommend using mental rehearsal say it is the true key to tap your potential. Their research reveals that all of our skills are learned through the image-making process, whether it’s driving a car, reading a book, or changing a habit.
You use your mind to picture the activity before you actually perform it. Think of it like this: Your mind works like a movie projector, screening an endless reel of memories and scenes of situations both real and imagined. You have the power to direct your movie projector (your mind) to reach your desired goals. Once you imagine something new for yourself, you begin to be flooded with ideas about how to realize that image. All of this will come about when you have allowed yourself to break through your own worst limitation, what you believe are your capabilities.

A lovely email from a client of mine (Brenda) who attended the Lightning
Process a couple of weeks ago. In her own words :-
"I can't believe the difference that the Lightning Process has made not
only to me but my family. Within two weeks of my training I have gone from
tired all the time to inspired all the time! I have a new lease of life &
the positivity to match. I am in control of my life & my body.
My son & I attended the course together & yesterday we went for a bike
ride for the first time in four years. We have experienced changes that
range from apparently small things to massive ones. Added together these
achievements are nothing short of incredible, if we can do it, so can
anybody! Thank you Donna for your respectful understanding of our previous
health issues, your wisdom, & the insightful way that you helped us to
make the changes we needed to to help ourselves!"

Do you dream of a better life, more money, healthy loving relationships, greater freedom, more job satisfaction and reaching all those long cherished goals? Ask yourself why you haven’t achieved them yet. I bet you can come up with a dozen or more excuses. However, if most people are honest with themselves there is only one reason why their life stays the same, year in and year out!
One of the biggest problems for people is procrastination. A failure to act on your desires is usually the main reason why people fail to increase their lot in life.
The simple truth is everyone procrastinates. However, the difference between really successful people, people who achieve average success and people who stay stuck, is their level of action!
Most people know what needs to be done to get the things, situations and outcomes they desire. However, they fail to even try to get them. This isn’t just a simple case of laziness. Many times there are deep rooted feelings of fear, insecurity and emotional blocks. They make excuses as to why they shouldn’t bother or why they deserve to sit in front of the TV after a hard day at work!
You can study all the personal development and self improvement material in the world. You can buy and listen to the best business seminars, books and DVDs but unless the knowledge is applied it is worse than useless – it just wastes your precious time. There is no substitute for taking action, even incorrect action!
Persistence is one of the key elements of success. Edison failed 9,999 times until on his ten thousandth attempt he created the electric light bulb. When asked about this his reply was simple but profound, “I didn’t fail 9,999 times, I just found 9,999 ways that didn’t work!”
Edison had persistence. He wasn’t afraid to try and fail because he knew there is no such thing as failure if you never give up. When it looks like your approach didn’t work take heart. You have just found another way that doesn’t work and this gets you closer to finding the way that does work.
However, as I have previously said most people already know what they need to do in order to get the outcome they are seeking. We live in the Information Technology Age. Information on every subject is available to us at our fingertips if we just care to look. Perhaps you are putting-off even doing that.
So stop procrastinating now and go do what you know will work or find out what will!

If you want to learn the true art of mind power then it is of the greatest importance you understand 2 functions of your mind, and also how they interact with each other…
You only possess one mind, but it has 2 totally different functions - and the names generally used to distinguish these 2 different functions are as follows.
1, The Conscious Mind
2, The Subconscious Mind
There are many other terms used. But the 2 listed above, are the ones used most to represent the 2 main functions of your mind.
To help us better understand the conscious and subconscious mind, they may be compared to a tree and its roots…
• You’re conscious mind being the tree, which helps you with daily situations like, decision-making, rational thinking, or just simply figuring out what to do and how best to do it.
When we think of ‘me’ we think of our conscious mind, the mind of which we are fully aware. This part of the mind makes decisions for us and directs our activities; it also analyzes, criticises and even commands us.
• You’re subconscious mind being the roots; it deals mostly with the repetitions of learned behaviour. This can be very helpful for you, as it enables you to deal with situations much more easily the next time they arise.
Whatever we see, hear, smell, taste, touch or feel passes through the conscious mind and reaches the subconscious mind where it is stored.
Once you have learned how best to deal with the situation you find it much easier the next time around… this is because you are using information which is already stored.
For instance, once you have learned to ride a bike you don’t have to consciously think about it anymore. This is because the stored information will come to you automatically the next time you get on your bike to ride it.
Just as if you were to learn where each letter on your keyboard is - you can now type without looking because you have formed a mental picture in your subconscious mind, of what the keyboard actually looks like.
The above are only two instances (of how the subconscious mind stores up relations of learned behaviour) and we are sure you would be able to find many more examples of this in your everyday life!
Information from the conscious mind gets past into the subconscious mind, and there is a very strong link between the two. It is said that everything you have ever seen, heard and experienced is perceived by your conscious mind, and then stored away into your subconscious mind as a memory.
Not only is this memory stored as the incident itself, but also any feelings which went with it at the time are also stored.
Your subconscious mind does not only store your memories and feelings. It is the maker of all the great ideas you have ever had, and is also the seat of your intuition and creativeness…
Your subconscious also keeps you going without you even being aware of it. It takes care of your bodily functions – your heart beat, and automatically runs such activities as, movement, language, visual perception and a whole host of other processes of your mind and body for you.
It also scans your mind for conflict and distress; assesses your environment for danger and threats, and relays and interprets perceptions, sensations, and feeling… last but not least it is also the storehouse of all your experience and decisions – everything which makes you the person you are.

Learn to recognise the signs before you end up in a crumpled heap!
Stress - it’s part of life isn’t it? Stress is good!
We subject ourselves to stress all the time, we need some stress, at work
and in our daily lives. Without pressure and stress we would simply get
nothing done, we wouldn’t achieve anything! Stress is a positive force
when it invigorates your life and enables you to realise your dreams. So,
the more, the better then?
Well, think about it for a moment and be careful what you wish for. Just
as we need oxygen in the air that we breathe to survive, pure oxygen will
kill us. So it is with stress, we need some, but at what point does stress
then becomes counter productive and a destructive force in our lives?
How do YOU perceive stress?
Do you need the “Buzz” of that last minute deadline?
Do you get a “Rush” from the responsibilities of a high-pressure situation?
Do you get a “High” by creating a situation that produces anger or fear?
Do you say to your workmates “I thrive on stress”?
Do you “live in fear” for your job?
Do you “Worry” constantly about your abilities at work?
Do you “Fear” competition at work?
Do you “Change” behind the wheel of your car?
Our physiological response to stress manifests itself in our bodies, by
producing stimulants and other stress hormones, which act as mood altering
devices, so we become much less conscious of pain, both physical and
mental. We can set ourselves a dangerous precedent here, if we choose to
ignore the signs that our bodies use to warn us that we are making
ourselves vunerable to breakdown. Ignore this advice at your peril!
A common symptom of stress is a person’s lack of respect for and enjoyment
of, eating. The stimulants and other stress hormones which makes us tired,
irritable and angry, totally disrupts our digestive function. We also tend
to make poor choices about eating when we’re stressed either through time
constraints or a desire to eat comfort food. According to your disposition
this will either cause a loss of appetite, depleting your body of
vitamins, minerals and nutrients, leading to weight loss and poor health,
or weight gain, through a diet of junk food eaten in a rush, leading to
digestive disorders and other weight-related problems. Poor nutrition will
further weaken your resistance to illness and allow other symptoms of
stress to develop. It’s a downward spiral.
Stress hormones are immensely powerful and have side effects that can
quite literally kill you. Stress becomes a bad thing when it reaches a
level beyond which you feel in control any longer, when you find yourself
feeling tense, tired and uncomfortable.
It’s not just the guy that seems most likely to drop dead from a stroke or
a heart attack that’s at risk here. Stress hormones can contribute to
ulcers and other severe gastro-intestinal problems, diabetes, high blood
pressure and heart disease. These chemicals are also causal factors in a
host of psychological problems such as depression and anxiety. It can also
weaken the immune system, which makes you more susceptible to illness and
affects the body’s ability to heal.
Ask yourself - am I stressed or am I in denial?
How much stress is too much stress?
Well, we’re all unique, and everyone experiences stress differently.
So how do we go about recognising the signs before it becomes a serious
problem?
First, check the following lists and be honest with yourself. If you start
to exhibit some of these symptoms, they may be warning signs that your
stress levels are becoming a cause for concern. Your body and your
emotions are attempting to give you a “wake-up” call. Listen to what your
body is telling you.
- Upset stomach
- Stomach pains
- Loss of appetite
- Severe headaches
- Dizziness
- Irritability
- Nervous Tick or Blinking
- Insomnia
- Chronic fatigue
- Pain in the neck and shoulders and back
- Stiff neck and shoulders or back
- Teeth Grinding
- Poor focus and memory
How you feel can indicate signs of stress too, look for the following:
- Anxious
- Depressed
- Frustrated
- Hustled
- Overloaded
- Pressured
- Tense
- Worried
Identifying stress at the early stages makes it so much easier to treat.
Good habits can be adopted to ensure that you have a good work/life
balance and stress reduction becomes a manageable exercise.
Learn to recognise the signs that stress is starting to build up and be
prepared to act quickly on the problems causing this, because problems
seem to grow in intensity if they are not dealt with. The relief will be
instant and you’ll be glad that you did.
It’s important to realise that you always have choices and learning how to
properly manage stress will make you a happier person and really will
improve your life.
If we are honest with ourselves, we can recognise the signs that stress is
reaching an abnormal level, but of course it’s different for everyone. The
situation can become more serious when the sufferer is in denial of the
obvious, when stress levels can then reach intolerable levels before the
sufferer has a serious, sometimes catastrophic health crisis.
Stress can cause serious illness and even if it doesn't go on to do that;
it can make you thoroughly miserable in the meantime. This article isn't
supposed to scare, but to make you aware and to inspire you to take
preventative action before it’s too late.

Creativity - You have a bright idea hidden somewhere in the back of your mind that you just can't wait to test out. The question is, do you really want to bring it out into the light? What could motivate you to churn your creative, inspiring juices to their utmost flavor?
Did you know that it always helps to set a time limit to your personal goals? Set yourself up so you can accomplish the most tasks in record time. For example, mowing the lawn in an hour before the big game on TV. A correct and positive attitude in whatever you do will make things easier, and even enjoyable.
It's simple. If you begin to allow yourself a bit of positive thinking then you will begin to realize things that you never thought possible. Thinking big is indeed the American Way and that what made our country prosperous. You can follow other great Americans who tapped into their creative mind and began to thing big..
Discover some tips to make it through your first week of possibility thinking even if you're just sitting in your favorite couch. Your mind is constantly at work for you. Tap into it's great resource while doing everyday activities.
1. Act. You must take passionate action towards living your life by design. Talk is cheap. Action = deposits in the bank of a passionately authentic future. My mother (probably quoting someone else) always said, "Action speaks louder than words". Without action, passion is void.
Dreams become reality when you simply start by tinkering with your mind, then with your hands. And if the idea weakens or falters you can always go back to it later until you finish it. Thomas Edison and his Dream Team had to go back to the idea of a light bulb and recalculate it over 1,000 times before the first working light bulb begin to light the world.
2. Love. Commit to yourself. Then commit to those you love to powerfully create a life you can love. Instead of reacting, commit to creating from your heart and soul, out of love rather than fear. The American Dream will always be there, but a dream will still be a dream without motion. Be amazed as the transformation begins.
3. Live. Embrace moments and opportunities. Recognize and embrace the thought that each moment is perfect regardless of its outcome. Every time you hit on something that may appear too extreme why not give it a shot anyway. See if it will work. You may be surprised with the results. If you are not then decide to use that moment to learn from it and make the appropriate shift. Learning and growing from mistakes and failures is a part of living.
4. Be grateful. Dwell completely in a place of gratitude. Learn to utilize what you have in your hands and make use of it in the most constructive way. Necessity is the mother of invention. Have you ever been stuck without something you needed and had to make do with something else? (MacGyver, from the famous tv show, was famous for that!) How grateful were you that you had the means to solve your situation? Slipping into neediness will become less of a habit when you repeatedly shift towards gratitude and away from poverty consciousness.
5. Be Passionate. Use a Passion Formula of Recognize/Reevaluate/Restore in place of the Shoulda/Woulda/Coulda whirlwind. The former is based on increased knowledge and abundance while the latter focuses on scarcity and lack. As you face people or tasks that may seem harder than scaling the summit of the Himalayas, allow yourself to realize that the task is just as important as giving out orders to your subordinates. You would rather be richly passionate!
6. Laugh. Keep humor at the forefront of thought, laughing at and with yourself whenever possible. You may find yourself quite entertaining when you loosen up! I have yet to see a comedian ever go hungry even though his jokes are as 'old as great-grandma'. Life has too much to offer to allow yourself to mope around in self pity. Humor is very attractive, very passionate: life-giving.
7. Discover Your Purpose. Believe that you are the architect of your destiny. Realizing how you wish to be remembered when you pass from this life is a truly driving force. Your purpose for being can be a seemingly simple as being a great parent to as elaborate as discovering miraculous cures.
When you have a strong purpose no one can take your passionate future from you except for you! Truly, as long as there's still breath in your body, there is no end to how much you can accomplish in a lifetime. Discovering and following your purpose will enable you to enjoy your work. Celebrate in the discovery that acting on your creative mind's thoughts is fulfilling your purpose. Watch everything flow into place with perfect, passionate precision.
Activate your positive thinking. Stretch your imagination. Think bigger than you feel comfortable. Act on your thoughts. The number one tip here is action. You want to start practicing these steps.
Think about this: It is unfortunate that so many people still do not use a computer because it appears too complicated to begin using. Or maybe they just keep putting it off till a more convenient time. These are just a couple of limitations one can set up for themselves. Limitations and failure to act on ideas and opportunities leave many as a dim bulb in a dark corner.
Alert! You are not doomed to darkness. You are interested in living a life of purpose and love. The wonderful, creative idea in you is about to be released. You are interested in doing this because you are reading this article. Fortunately if you truly desire something, the will to attain it will open your creative mind to find a way.
Now you need only to begin to act on your desire to create. Act now! Make your path to creativity and follow your purpose. Take your first step today with a positive attitude.

Jill, came to The Lightning Process just a few weeks ago. Look at her now!

My lovely clients, Stephanie & Samantha. They completed The Lightning
Process this week at my clinic in Penn, Buckinghamshire. We saw incredible
changes. Well done to them!

Stephanie wrote "Hi Donna. Thanks so much for all your help.
You are such an inspirational person and I am so grateful to you for the change I can see in myself already!
You made me feel at ease because you suffered with the same things at me, but got through it and are now 100% healthy. I feel like I have a new lease for life. I went for a bike ride on day one of the course, something I hadn't done for 2 years, then by day three I was riding miles with my dog running next to me and I cried with happiness at how good it feels to feel the wind in my hair again, to be free to do whatever I want. I feel invincible!!!
I can't thank you enough for how much you and the Lightning Process have helped me, and the same goes for my family and friends".

The 5 Side Effects of Kindness
When we think of side effects the first thing that springs to mind are the side
effects of drugs. But who'd have thought that kindness could have side effects too?
Well, it does! And positive ones at that.
1) Kindness Makes us Happier
When we do something kind for someone else, we feel good. On a spiritual level,
many people feel that this is because it is the right thing to do and so we're tapping
into something deep and profound inside of us that says, 'This is who I am.'
On a biochemical level, it is believed that the good feeling we get is due to elevated
levels of the brain's natural versions of morphine and heroin, which we know as
endogenous opioids. They cause elevated levels of dopamine in the brain and so we
get a natural high, often referred to as 'Helper's High'.
(Thanks to David R Hamilton Phd for those words)
(Watch this space for the other 4 side effects!)

It's inspiring to see my young clients getting their lives back on track! When it comes to M.E. and Chronic Fatigue, my advice is always 'nip it in the bud' and start living well ASAP! http://ping.fm/sKsge

A recovery story from Becky, my Lightning Process client.
In her own words "I had been unwell for many years. I felt tired, dizzy
and all my muscles ached. In the end I was diagnosed with ME. It's a very
horrible illness that made me very depressed. I did my GCSEs although only
managed to stay at home and study. I couldn't go out with my friends and
struggled just getting up every day.
Then I heard about The Lightning Process. It was the best thing that could
have happened to me. The change even after day 1 was unbelievable! That
evening I went out shopping and then to dinner, something I would never
have been able to do before. Now, a month on, I am enjoying life, catching
up on the missed time with friends. I have joined a gym and am able to
complete workouts.
I can honestly say this course was worth every penny and I am glad I gave
it a go! Just like a lot of people I had tried everything in the book from
therapy to homeopathy, none of which worked for me. The Lightning Process
did. I only wish I had found out about it sooner!
I would just like to thank Donna Paris for all her support. I HAVE MY LIFE
BACK AGAIN! I am looking forward to starting uni in September".

Lightning Process at The Wimborne Clinic -
A month ago I struggled to climb the stairs in my house.
Today, 3 weeks after completing The Lightning Process, I cycled from my

I feel on top of the world and can't stop smiling.

Maggie, having done the Phil Parker Lightning Process, in her own words "Thank you, Donna for such an inspirational and life changing
course, delivered with just the right combination of warmth and
professionalism. The Lightning Process is an amazing tool - simple, yet
incredibly powerful. I have already experienced several positive changes in
my health and state of mind and anticipate a great deal more as I continue
to practice the Lightning Process and build on what I've learnt. It is my
goal to one day become a Lightning Process practitioner myself and help
other people achieve real and lasting improvements to their health and
happiness. Thank you again."

I received a lovely email from the mother of a 17 year old client of mine who had Post Viral Fatigue. He came to The Phil Parker Lightning Process at my clinic in Buckinghamshire. Her words are inspiring :
"I didn’t dare hope for a full recovery for Simon, I thought the Lightning Process would help him “manage” his symptoms – how wrong was I! The Lightning Process has given my son his life back. The transformation has truly been incredible. The weight of fatigue and related physical issues he suffered have been banished.
He is re-engaging with all of the activities that looked to be out of reach just 8 short weeks ago. These include a Duke of Edinburgh Gold expedition to the Brecon Beacons in June and a trip to Madagascar for three weeks with World Challenge in August.
His determination to make the Lightning Process work for him has been inspirational. It makes you realise just what is possible if you really want to improve your life. Simon hasn’t just recovered he has surpassed all expectations. Just to hear him laughing, to see his face beaming with confidence is the best prize ever. If you think you can do it –you can.
Thank you so much Donna for leading him down the path to recovery.
Sue"

I received this lovely email yesterday from the mother of a 17 year old client of mine. He was suffering from Post Viral Fatigue & came to do The Phil Parker Lightning Process at my clinic in Buckinghamshire. In her own words :

completed The Phil Parker Lightning Process today at The Wimborne Clinic

Take a look at Miss Piggy from The Muppets. She was always very outgoing
and confident, but more importantly she had amazing self-esteem. She
thought and firmly believed that she was stunningly beautiful and she
displayed it in a very dramatic way. Everyone fell for it, everyone found
her to be glamorous. What's more, Kermit the frog even went and fell in
love with her! But let's look at the truth of the matter - she was a pig!
Self-esteem is the way that you feel about yourself, self-confidence is
the way you feel about your abilities. Both can enhance your ability to
attract partners, pay-rises, friends, sales, success, achievement and lots
more. It is easy and valuable to learn how to increase your own
self-esteem today. Hey, if it gets Miss Piggy pulling at someones
(some-frogs) heart strings, it can do the same for you.

Every thought and feeling changes something in the body. Ever been
embarrassed? Did your face go red at the thought of people looking at you
or knowing something private about you? Of course it did. Your thoughts
are affecting your biology! http://ping.fm/hWYJi
On the positive side, our thoughts can have far reaching health-giving
consequences. For example, scientific studies have shown that thinking and
feeling care or compassion for another person can bring coherence to the
rhythms of the heart. One study even found an increase in key immune
chemicals after 5 minutes of such loving thoughts.
Thoughts and emotions even bring about changes at the level of the DNA.
Our genes continually switch on and off as the body goes about it's basic
house-keeping. However, our thinking influences the process.
Take a simple example. Say you fall and scrape your knee. As the body
begins to repair itself, genes switch on to provide the materials needed
for repair, like hormones, clotting factors, even new skin. But if you
were focusing your attention on stuff that made you sad, or even believing
that you would take ages to heal, then genes would switch on that would
interfere with the healing process.
On the other hand, if you imagined that the wound was healed and believed
that your thoughts would help, then genes would switch on and you would
heal faster.
Additionally, strong emotions like fascination, wonder, awe, excitement,
and enthusiasm, as well as spiritual states of consciousness, are so
powerful that they even switch on genes that cause brain cells to grow in
adults - something that, up until a few years ago, was believed to be
impossible. The key is the interaction of emotions with DNA.
This all happens inside the body. Where it gets really interesting is when
our thoughts affect things outside of the body.
Some scientists placed organisms in test tubes and found that people could
influence them just by intending for them to change. For instance, people
could either mentally speed up or slow down the mutation of E-coli on
command.
Some university research has also shown that a thought about a person is
registered in their body. While hooked up to devices measuring electrical
resistance in the skin, scientists measured changes in people depending on
the thoughts held about them by people in another room.
These things are able to occur because all life is interconnected at the
quantum level. A thought not only affects your body, but it ripples
throughout the invisible web that interconnects all of life. Each of us
affects the whole.
Therefore it is possible for us to make a real positive difference in the
word by changing our attitudes and behaviours towards each other. In a
very real way an act of kindness in your own home or workplace will ripple
throughout the interconnectedness of life and make a difference in the
lives of people on the other side of the world. And ultimately, it's not
so much the act, but the space of love it came from that it most
important. It's the thought that counts.
So if you want to see a world you dream of then start with yourself. Each
of us can make a real difference, regardless of our status in life.
Everyone is important. And that means You!
A simple formula is to show love for self, love for others, and love for
nature.

I am a great believer in music and it's effect on us emtionally. I found this article fascinating :-
"What is the connection between music and the brain? Is it possible that music can help you think better? The research says yes, and after telling you about some of it, I'll let you in on an even faster way to boost your brain power with music.
Music And The Brain - The Research
The research shows that music actually trains the brain for higher forms of thinking. Listening to, and participating in music also creates new neural pathways in your brain that stimulate creativity. An article in a Newsweek (2/19/96) reported on a study from the University of California.
In the study, researchers followed the progress of three-year-olds, split into two groups. The first group had no particular training in, or exposure to music. The second group studied piano and sang daily in chorus. After eight months the musical three-year-olds were much better at solving puzzles, and when tested, scored 80% higher in spatial intelligence than the non-musical group.
Brain Music
A study on music and the brain, done at UC Irvine's Center for Neurobiology of Learning and Memory involved 36 students. They were given three spatial reasoning tests on a standard IQ test.
Just before the first test, they listened to Mozart's sonata for Two Pianos in D Major, K. 448 for ten minutes.
Before the second test, they listened to a relaxation tape.
Before the third, they sat in silence.
The average scores for all 36 students: 1st test: 119. 2nd test: 111. 3rd test: 110.
That's an average increase of 9 iq points from listening to Mozart. It's assumed that their intelligence didn't increase, but that the music put them in a state that gave them better access to the resources of their brains. However, other studies do show that repeated exposure to slow music can permanently increas you IQ, so play that Mozart!
Brain Wave Entrainment
Your brain wave frequencies vary according to the state you are in. For example, daydreaming and meditation usually take place in the "Alpha" range of frequencies. Alert concentration is in the "Beta" range. "Brain wave entrainment" products have beats, usually embedded in music, that your brain starts to follow.
If you listen to music containing beats at a frequency of 10 Hz (in the Alpha range) it will feel very relaxing. This is because your brain will begin to follow this frequency and reproduce the rhythm in the music. You'll generate more brain waves at a 10 Hz frequency and enter a relaxed Alpha mental state. This is the idea behind brain wave entrainment.
This may be why some types of music have certain effects, but not all brain wave entrainment Cds use music. Some use the raw "binaural beats" as they are sometimes called, embedded in white noise, or in sounds of nature. (I have used these products and find them to be pretty powerful , especially the ones for relaxation.)
Whether you use "binaural beats," or just pop a Mozart CD into the player, you can increase your brain power easily. Try it today. It is doubtful that Mozart will harm you, so why wait for more research to be done on music and the brain?"

There is nothing more certain in the world and in this life than CHANGE. No matter what people might think or what they might try to believe, everything is changing all the time, as we breathe in and out, as we eat and sleep and grow and go through our own spirals of unfoldment.
So here is a simple metaphor for change. It is called “The Egg” and I hope you enjoy it.
"I often have this feeling of stress and desperation because I am quite convinced nothing has changed.
I look around myself and all I see is what I always see.
Same house, same furniture, same pile of bills, same everything.
I work so hard and NOTHING is changing.
I thought that again about something the other day, and this large, beautiful golden egg came to my mind.
There it is, and it just sits there in its nest of straw.
It doesn't DO anything.
It doesn't change shape, it doesn't change colour.
It doesn't pulsate. It doesn't roll around.
You could look at it for DAYS AND DAYS and you'd come away thinking that it was just that and there was NOTHING GOING ON.
And yet, and if one was to extend one's feelers in a different way, one might become aware of the RIOT OF CHANGE that is taking place INSIDE the egg, a storm of re-organisation, feeding and growth, of total unfoldment as a bunch of random cells become a fish thing, which in turn becomes ever more defined and more complex, more organised in every way, more mature, more fantastic with every heartbeat, every breath that passes.
One day, and we know not when, the egg that lay so motionless for so very long and seemed to be nothing but an inert shape will begin to rock, and then it will crack, and the newly born dragonet will emerge, spread its wings for the first time and take its first small steps.
Yes, there was change. Even if we thought there wasn't".

Ever heard someone say,”…so-and-so is great, but I’m just not happy?” Or have you ever wondered why you just couldn’t seem to find happiness? Read on to learn how you can choose to be happy.
Happiness is something you have to “choose” to be. A person could have all the money in the world, and still be unable to acquire what it is they really want, and ultimately remain unhappy. A person could be surrounded by all their friends and loved ones, and still be lonely. And, a person could have to eat bugs to survive, in a cold, wet prison cell, and still be happy to eat those bugs, and happy to be alive. This person has gratefully accepted their surroundings, and has found some good or greater meaning in it, making the experience more pleasurable. This person chose to be happy with what they had, by being mindful of the moment, recognizing the potential it may have.
Getting into the habit of being happy is easy. The first step is learning to appreciate your blessings, seeing the good or greater meaning of things. This requires that you become more aware of your five senses. How else could the smell of freshly baked cookies cheer up your woefully dreary day? How else could the faint sound of your sleeping child’s breathing ease you into your own peaceful resting state? We need to use our senses to become more aware of our surroundings, and accept them. It’s then that we can change our surroundings to become more pleasing to us. This could include some small, but significant changes, like placing candles by the bathtub, or buying a special lamp for your reading area.
Scientific research suggests that colours play an important role in one’s moods. Light green and orange seem to make people feel happier, whereas red makes them feel hungry. Many people have been hiring interior decorators as part of their strategy for feeling better, as interior decorators have studied colors, patterns, layouts, etc., and they use these factors to create a comfortable living area, tailor-fit to your needs. Just remember to research your interior designer, and be frugal. The positive effect that redesign brings, needn’t be boggled down by guilt from over-doing it. The idea is to do things that make you feel good. It won’t make you feel good if you overspend, or overindulge. But it will make you feel good if you shopped around, and you got the best deal, completely fitting all your needs.
Again, awareness is the key to happiness. After you have become aware of yourself and surroundings, you can choose to be appreciative and happy.
